Course Features

The department of Chemistry was established in 2004 with 5 students. This is affiliated by Bharathidasan University. The department was headed by Prof.S.Praba. Now successfully reached around 80 students. Which consists of 3 faculty members and 1 lab assistant. The Department now headed by Prof.D.Vasumathi. She is a long time H.O.d in chemistry department.The department generated more than 500 degree holders in past 15 years. Our college first university Rank holder is produced by chemistry department.There are 17 university rank holders in chemistry department. The students who are studied in chemistry department now occupying important academic and industrial position in Tamilnadu and various states that add more prestige to our department. The Department equipped with smart classes, Laboratories to producing quality teaching and research knowledge. Soon we are focusing on upgrading our department a PG and Research department in future. B.Sc Chemistry is a three year under graduate course, Which can be apply after completing +2 from science stream. Eligibility of the course says that the interested candidates must have science subjects as Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology as their main subjects from any recognized board. B.Sc chemistry deals with different aspects of chemistry including organic, inorganic, physical, Analytical and Polymer chemistry.

The jobs profiles can be found across different areas such as chemical industries, Schools, polytechnic colleges, Arts and science college, Engineering and other industries. There are large number of occupations that can seek in the wake of finishing a course in chemistry.
